Navigating the Amended Mental Health Code: How to for Court Staff
The structure of Kevin’s Law (also known as assisted outpatient treatment) was difficult to navigate, not only for agencies and the public, but also for the courts. Therefore, Kevin’s Law (and the Mental Health Code) has been amended revising the structure and the conditions under which a person may be ordered into involuntary mental health treatment. This session will be an introduction for court staff on how to navigate through the amended Mental Health Code.
