Interstate Commission for Juveniles (ICJ)

The ICJ fulfills the objectives of the Interstate Compact for Juveniles, a contract between states that regulates the interstate movement of juveniles under court supervision or who have run away from home and left their state of residence. Michigan, one of the states that has ratified the compact, is bound by federal law to observe the terms of the agreement. The ICJ national office provides a wide range of resources including training, a benchbook, quick reference guides (a toolkit), and a national data system.
